ABOUT THE IMAGE: This rare VFX design print of Luke and the Rancor was used during the production of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983) as part of a preliminary storyboard binder. In addition to storyboard sequences, this binder also contained several printed designs of vehicles and props which were likely used as reference by the film's VFX team. This image was likely an early VFX test that illustrates the desired scale of Luke Skywalker against the Rancor puppet created by Phil Tippett. Please note general wrinkling and edge wear along the upper margin.
